Green Day have previously visited our shores during their 21st Century Breakdown world tour in 2009 while their 99 Revolutions tour (2013) and American Idiot world tour (2004-5) skipped Australia. The last time they were here was in 2014 for the Soundwave Festival.

This year, Green Day will be visiting five Australian cities as well as Auckland, New Zealand for their Revolution Radio tour.

A second and final Melbourne show was announced to meet ticket demand as the first show has sold out. If you haven’t yet snapped up your tickets, there’s not much time to waste!

Buy your tickets securely through TIcketek’s website. Follow this link and choose your venue (Rod Laver Arena) and date (6th May; 5th May is sold out!)

Special guests

Green Day will be joined by American ska rock band The Interrupters, who have just enjoyed playing at the Coachella festival in California.

Since forming in 2009, The Interrupters have enjoyed great success, touring with Rancid, The Transplants, Devil’s Brigade, and Left Alone. They have also performed at American music festival Riot Fest and Canadian festival Amnesia Rockfest. And this is all before their first record was released!

Revolution Radio Tour

The Revolution Radio Tour is a worldwide tour supporting Green Day’s 12th (yes, 12th!) studio album.

The tour began in September 2016 and will wrap up a year later, in September 2017.

The first and second legs of the tour took the band around the US, while leg 3 took them to Europe. They returned to the US during March and April, and have now reached our shores!

Following their Australian and New Zealand pit stops, they’ll return to Europe and end in the US, where their final concert is scheduled for 16th September, 2017.

Rod Laver Arena

This multi-use venue is perhaps best known as the home of the Australian Open, but also houses a variety of events including concerts and sporting events.

Upcoming events at Rod Laver include Hans Zimmer, Ariana Grande, WWE Live, and Cat Stevens, just to name a few!

Getting to Rod Laver Arena from Urban Central

Driving

The most direct route is to follow City Road until it turns into Alexandra Avenue (over St Kilda Road), and then cross the Yarra River over the Swan Street Bridge until you end up on Batman Avenue. Be sure to check out parking options in advance as it will be busy!

Public transport

We recommend taking the 234 or 236 bus OR #12 tram north into the city and then catching the #70 tram towards Wattle Park. Plan your journey using PTV’s Journey Planner tool.
