Love your sport? Us too. In fact, at Urban Central, we can’t get enough of it.

This upcoming Easter Long Weekend, make sure you make your way to AAMI Park to cheer on Melbourne Victory as they take on the Central Coast Mariners in the final round of the A-League season.

There are also five AFL matches on in Melbourne this long weekend! Who will you be cheering for?

A-League: Melbourne Victory vs. Central Coast Mariners

  • $1·       Friday, 14th April 2017
  • $1·       AAMI Park
  • $1·       7:50pm

A-League is Australia’s primary competition for soccer, and the season is quickly drawing to a close!

The match between Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners marks the first of five matches that make up the 27th and final round for the 2016-17 A-League season.

With Melbourne Victory sitting comfortably in second position in the ladder, and the Mariners looking likely to get the Wooden Spoon, Victory is the clear favourite.

A top-6 finish means Victory will advance to the Finals Series, where two elimination finals and two semi finals during the second half of April lead us to the A-League Grand Final on 1st May. Go Victory!

Easter Long Weekend

The Easter long weekend is where most people take their first proper break for the year. We’ve had a smattering of days off between January and March, but Easter gives us that coveted four-day long weekend.

Many take the opportunity to make plans and attend special events around Melbourne CBD. It’s also smack-bang in the middle of school holidays, so local kids can enjoy a mini stay-cation in their own city with their families, or those coming from further away can take advantage of a few nights away in the city.

Nearby Melbourne attractions include:

  • Botanical Gardens

  • Queen Victoria Market

  • ACMI

  • Albert Park Lake

  • St Kilda Beach and shopping
